Groundwater development with a solar system to reduce groundwater development cost

The Department of Groundwater Resources has invited a group of media to make a study visit Ban Bang Ta Suk, Moo 4, Hatasa subdistrict, Sappaya district, Chainat, where the Groundwater development project for agriculture with solar system in drought area has been implemented.

The project consists of a 6-inch diameter well and 45 meters depth. This project can annually supply water for agriculture of 100 rai (12 households), where farmers mostly cultivate vegetables and fruits such as pomelo, jackfruit, mango, lime, etc.

In the past, farmers usually use water from the Maharat canal which experienced a water shortage due to severe drought. After the project implemented, the groundwater supply can help reduce the water cost for agriculture as well as promote more income from agricultural practice.
