"Warawut" has provided large-scale groundwater for Kalasin farmers in drought

     On the 6th February 2021, Mr. Warawut Silpa-Archa, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment together with Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of Natural Resources and Environment and Mr. Sakda Vichiensil, Director General, Department of Groundwater Resources officially visited Ban Kut Wa Village, Moo 2, Kut Wa Subdistrict, Kuchinarai District, Kalasin Province to observe the high innovation of groundwater development project for large-scale agricultural plots in the fiscal year of 2021.

     The groundwater development project for large-scale agricultural plots in Kalasin is one of 30 project areas, supported by the government funding to help farmers in drought-affected areas. This project consists of 4 wells with 80 - 100 meters depth, 5.5 horsepower pumping system, 4 storage steel tanks of 120 cubic meters, a solar-powered system of 5,120 watts together with 4 electric generators of 10 kW. It has provided a total volume of groundwater of two hundred thousand cubic meters per year (12 cubic meters per hour), distributing water supply more than 3 kilometers for over 760 rai of agricultural areas.
